The story of one long weekend in the life of an elderly New York couple hoping to sell their East Village apartment of 40 years. Ruth is a retired teacher and Alex is an artist. As they prepare for an open house, New York City is on alert because a gasoline truck is "stuck" in the Midtown tunnel and the driver has fled. The real estate market responds to the chaos
resulting in a huge bidding war on their apartment. Ruth and Alex make an offer on a new apartment and look back on years of memories in their home.
